The art is fantastic ( ) This book is a different take on an alphabet book. Not only is it an alphabet book in using nouns...but it also uses verbs, adjectives, and adverbs. I can see kiddos getting frustrated with this book though. For all the guessing in the world, I never got the picture right. Close. But not quite. Still it's still a learning opportunity for kids. However, like all of Van Allsburg's drawings, "The Z Was Zapped" is in black and white. It lacks intrigue and beauty--which is a key thing to have in alphabet books. no reviews | add a review
