The story of 2 men: 1 a highly moral & conscientious journalist who wants to tell the stories of the urban poor & expose corruption; the other a foundling raised into a life of petty crime who gets 1 big score and is, inevitably, tracked down & kills himself trying to get away. The journalist is exposed to temptation and almost falls, but the fate of the other man, destroyed by his urge for riches, sets the journalist & his wife back on the path of goodness & heroism. A romance.
