This book is a different take on the story of Noah's Ark. It starts in the same way as it usually does, but when Noah calls out all of the common animals to get off the boat, he realizes that there are a lot more exotic animals that are on the boat. The rest of the book is a bunch of pages with gorgeous illustrations on it with odd animals from zebuses to aoudads. This book is a way for students to get familiar with endangered and exotic animals. I don't think that I would read this in a public classroom because of the biblical ties, but I think it is fun for the students to see the different names of the animals. Genre: Myth, ( )

Love the creativity of taking a Bible story and using it as an alphabet book. The layout of the book is read in landscape format rather than the usual portrait format. ( )

"A wonderful tour to less-traveled parts of the animal kingdom, and also a plea for conservation."--Kirkus Reviews. After the flood, it's time for the animals to leave the ark. When Noah calls the roll from A to Z, readers find Noah doesn't know the names of some of the more unusual animals. An ALA Notable Children's Book and Boston Globe/Horn Book Honor Book. Full color.
