Wayne Cordeiro does a great job instilling the discipline of bible reading and journaling. It has a huge impact on me and already on our church.

Pastor Wayne Cordiero does an excellent job elevating Scripture as the primary source of spiritual nurture in the life of a Christian. He endorses using this method of reading and study, which is simple and powerful, in the small group setting of any church. This book is encouraging, enlightening and inspiring. Highly recommended. NCLA Review - Wayne Cordeiro prescribes daily devotions as a regimen for success and satisfaction in life. In his church community (New Hope Christian Fellowship, Honolulu, Hawaii), they have built into their church culture a "self-feeding program" for all members and staff that is grounded in journaling on a daily reading from Scripture following the "S.O.A.P" pattern—read the (S)cripture, make an (O)bservation, find an (A)pplication, and write a (P)rayer. Cordeiro introduces his book on an excellent web page that includes video and "Life Journal" resources. He encourages each person to bring five things to this process: 1) A Bible, 2) a pen, 3) a journal, 4) a bible-reading plan, and 5) a daily planner. Cordeiro believes adopting such a disciple produces fruits like joy and fulfillment. The book includes all the resources and ideas necessary to start such a daily reading regimen. Rating: 4—CS ( )

Excellent book on the value of being in The Word to develop a close relationship with Christ. Really spoke to me and convicted me about having an ongoing relationship with God, daily to equip myself for battle. ( )
