Aantal brieven van Celine aan (buitenlandse) vriendinnen, grotendeels in de 30-er jaren en grotendeels weinig meer om het lijf hebbend dan aankondigingen van bezoeken en later in typische Céline-stijl het beklagen van zichzelf. Dat is ook het moment waarop de joden en de communisten de schuld krijgen van alle ellende. Tot die tijd lijkt hij meer non-conformist en rancuneus, dan dat hij op antisemitisme te betrappen is. ( )
