A Time for Angels: To every angel, shepherd and wise man who ever appeared in a Christmas pageant - including those of my children whose acting careers began and ended with such endeavors - I dedicate this story. To each child whose childhood included hours spent in learning their lines for that magic moment, when they stood before parents and friends to tell the age-old story of the Bethlehem babe. And to the man who shared evenings with me after our little ones were sound asleep, with me reading the instructions as he wielded screwdriver and pliers, putting together toys and then hiding those gifts in closets, I dedicate this effort.
