This is a great book that teaches young children about penguins and the different ways they look. It is a great read! Recommended to ages 7 to 10.

Summary: This book is about penguins. It talks about what they eat, where they live, how they nest, who they have to watch out for, the type of penguins there are, etc. The book rhymes throughout the book.

Personal Reaction: I’ve read this book several times to children, I loved it every time. I love how the children learn so much about penguins. Not only are they learning from the text book they are learning from the great pictures that go along with the text. This is a great book for elementary students.

Classroom Extension Ideas:
1)Ask the class several questions about penguins.
2)Have the class draw their favorite page. ( )

This book is loaded with facts about penguins. It tells about what they eat, where they live, who their predators are how they make nests, and what types there are. It is a rhyming book, but the rhymes go strangely between pages, and it’s loaded with slant rhymes. ( )
