Book I (Tales of London)

Free on Kindle. I couldn't read this. Maybe Spoiler but the plot twist at the very beginning didn't appeal to me. All it means is constant repeating of the fear of discovery & I don't like that kind of book.

-This was an enjoyable light read set in Victorian England. A rich old woman decides to take as a ward the illegitmate daughter of her only son, who recently died. The girl is tracked to an orphanage and Sarah becomes a member of the woman's household. There are a few twists to the plot but the story has a happy ending and is the beginning of a series. There are a lot of details about upper class life in that era in England and a what I'd call a few extraneous preachy moments, but all in all I enjoyed it. ( )
