Loading... Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (Ultimate Edition) (edition 2002)by J.K. Rowling (Author), Daniel Radcliffe (Actor), Rupert Grint (Actor), Emma Watson (Actor), John Cleese (Actor) — 11 more, Robbie Coltrane (Actor), Warwick Davis (Actor), Richard Griffiths (Actor), Richard Harris (Actor), Jason Isaacs (Actor), Alan Rickman (Actor), Fiona Shaw (Actor), Maggie Smith (Actor), Julie Walters (Actor), Kenneth Branagh (Actor), Chris Columbus (Director)It's hard to be fully objective about a film series which is so well-known and which has been so surrounded by hype. But, trying to look at it fairly with the benefit of hindsight, it was hard to find anything wrong with this film. There's an excellent cast who play their parts well, great direction, and some light humour to temper the drama. We even remembered to watch the few seconds of 'extra' at the end of the credits, and liked being able to 'fast forward' through them, which of course was not possible at the cinema. Definitely recommended, other than to small children who might find it over-scary. Each year these books/dvd's get darker. In this one there is an attempt to kill Ginny Weasley. It's very difficult to set an age for watching these because they are scary. I read and watched them as adult which is a different thing. I have a crust young ones don't have. And yet the stories are so good it is very tempting to just let them have at it. However, I did not advise this for Kate's kids, nor do I for Serenity and Finn. I would say 11 at the earliest. Modified to fit a standard-aspect-ratio TV screen Region 1 (NTSC) Forced to spend his summer holidays with his muggle relations, Harry Potter gets a real shock when he gets a surprise visitor: Dobby the house-elf, who warns Harry Potter against returning to Hogwarts, for terrible things are going to happen. Harry decides to ignore Dobby's warning and continues with his pre-arranged schedule. But at Hogwarts, strange and terrible things are indeed happening: Harry is suddenly hearing mysterious voices from inside the walls, muggle-born students are being attacked, and a message scrawled on the wall in blood puts everyone on his/her guard - "The Chamber Of Secrets Has Been Opened. Enemies Of The Heir, Beware" . Written by Soumitra The film series continues in its entertaining fashion. The child actors are more confident and it shows. Just great fun. The students of a school for wizards are attacked by an unseen monster. After re-watching this one, I realize that what's missing from the first movie is a sense of humor. That one was just a fairy tale, while this one is an adventure comedy; a handful of good laughs here and there go a long way to making it fun to watch.
