Giles Moncrief is the perfect heir, and he has devoted his entire life to becoming the Earl of Spelthorne. But lately his life has become a bit too predictable. In short, he's bored. The arrival of a gypsy caravan at the estate throws his well-ordered life into turmoil when a beautiful gypsy shows up on his doorstep claiming to be his deceased parents' long lost daughter. Caterina Dupeski claims to have been switched at birth for the unwanted son of a poor cottager. She even has proof. But there's a big difference between being born a lady and actually being a lady. Equipped with an indifferent education and no training in ton etiquette, she's the least likely candidate for the moniker 'lady.' Faced with an upheaval of all he knows and an impossible scandal, Giles strikes a bargain with Caterina; he proposes a marriage of convenience. He will train her to be his countess and give her the comfort of his wealth; in turn, he gets to keep the title, and society is none the wiser. Love was never part of the proposition, but they both get more than they bargained for.… (more)
