Main description: Die 15. Auflage der traditionsreichen Walther-Ausgabe weist gegenüber der 14. viele Innovationen auf: Die Überlieferung wurde neu gesichtet, textkritische Entscheidungen wurden neu durchdacht. In Fällen großer Varianz ist eine Reihe von Liedern nun erstmals in Fassungseditionen aufbereitet, wodurch sich neue Interpretationsmöglichkeiten eröffnen. Völlig neu sind die jedem Ton beigegebenen Erschließungshilfen; sie sollen Studierenden den Zugang zu Walthers Texten erleichtern. Diesem Ziel dienen auch weitere neue Beigaben wie die Abrisse zu Leben und Werk Walthers und zur Editionsgeschichte sowie das Begriffsglossar. Problematische, schwierige oder strittige textkritische Entscheidungen werden in einem eigenen Kommentar erläutert. Main description: In comparison to the previous 14th edition, the 15th edition of this compendium of medievalpoetry by Walther von der Vogelweide shows a number of innovations. The sources have been newly examined, and critical textual decisions revisited. In cases of major variation a number of songs have been made available in multiple versions for the first time, thus opening the door to new interpretations. Interpretive aids, which are included for each 'Ton', are a major innovation and should facilitate access to Walther’s texts for students. Ease of access is also supported by additional sectionson Walther’s life and work andon the editorial history of this collection.
