No current Talk conversations about this book. Could have more sexy scenes ( ![]() Another winner from Patricia Briggs. I wasn't sure I would be able to get into it as much as the Mercy Thompson series, since I love the characters in Mercy's neck of the woods so much, but I was drawn to Anna and Charles right away. It was nice to see more of Bran and his pack too and cool that the time line matched the time line of the first Mercy Thompson book—that was a happy surprise. I think the short story that explained how Anna and Charles first met should have been included at the beginning of Cry Wolf. It set the scene so well. Looking forward to Hunting Ground! 2019 update: Woo! The Mercyverse re-read is going swimmingly! This one was as good as I remembered. 2021 update: reading an ARC of the next A&O book launched an unplanned series reread. Loved reading this one again! 2021 second update: Usually nothing embarrasses me when I talk about my reading choices, but even I feel a little silly rereading this twice in the same year. I reread this on my phone, keeping it a secret from the books on my kindle, including four from NetGalley and about the same number checked out from the digital library. Why am I being so bonkers?! There’s just something about the most recent A&O book that makes me want to go back and revisit Anna and Charles at the beginning of their relationship. Next thing I know, I’ll be writing letters to them and inviting them to my home. 2022 reread: Scarfed it again, and I’m not sorry! re read Cry Wolf picks up right where the novella Alpha & Omega left off. I recommend reading that one first, or you might feel a little lost at the beginning. Anna and Charles are new to the mates' thing, but I can tell that I will enjoy their escapades.
