Dois relatos autobiográficos de um dos maiores poetas do século. Uma vez ele disse que só na Rússia a poesia é realmente respeitada, é algo pelo qual podem te matar. Em nenhum outro país a poesia é um motivo tão freqüente de homicídio. Sua profecia logo se cumpriu: Mandelstam foi mandando para o gulag por Stálin e morreu alguns meses depois. Falar seu nome era mal visto.
A esposa do poeta, Nadezhda Mandelstam, dedicou-se a decorar os poemas do marido, caso os livros dele se perdessem, mas ainda viveu para vê-los reeditados, depois que ele foi reabilitado.
Uma leitura excelente. ( )
