(audio) Mma Ramotswe runs the only detective agency in Botswana. She tries to find a man missing in Africa for 10 years while newly engaged to JLB Matekoni.

Light enjoyable read. At some stage read the next in the series. ( )

Favorite quote: "Mma Ramotswe reflected on how easy it was to find oneself committed to a course of action simply because one lacked the courage to say no."

In some ways this book was better than the debut novel in the series. McCall Smith seems to dial in the characterization and writing style in this one. Readers learn much more about the other primary characters, including J.L.B. Maketoni, who actually sounds like an all-around nice person.
