Fabulous account of four distinct housewives in Hunting Ridge, an elite suburban community, where wealth and good looks rule the day.

Love, a child prodigy, hides a secret from her past that leads to a mysterious illness, crippling her body and soul.

Marie, a brash lawyer, struggles to remain professional with a young intern who adores her while her husband plays golf in his free time.

Gayle, a descendant of an old wealth family, copes with her tyrant husband by taking prescription drugs and confiding in Paul, the cook.

Janie, a made-to-perfection mother of four, does not know how to cope with the emotional emptiness of her marriage and therefore plunges into a sex-only affair with a married man.

The four women's lives intersect with the planning of a charity function, and the facades they all carefully preserve for the Hunting Ridge world to see slowly crumble into genuine friendships.

A must read for anyone missing their gal pals! ( )

This is a story of 4 women living in suburbia. It is almost a Stepford Wives community, outwardly perfect, but looking more closely, there are deep troubles. Marriages have grown stale, there is an affair, there are secrets causing a chasm in families.
I didn’t feel invested with any of the women, and I just wanted the book to end as everyone was so unhappy.
