To say that Dan Abnett is the best author Black Library has -that I’ve come across- is a fething understatement, and Mr. Abnett proves as such in his latest Gaunt’s Ghost novel “Only in Death.” Once again the Tanith First & Only are put through the meat grinder in typical Mr. Abnett fashion however ghosts among Ghosts abound. Each time I read another Tanith novel I am genuinely surprised at how Mr. Abnett always makes it seem fresh and the action so alive you feel that you could possibly do some personal damage from just reading about a firefight. This is how I know Mr. Abnett to be a rather talented author. For those who are dedicated to the series answers to some longstanding questions are made and Mr. Abnett resolves these with such intensity and emotion that you shouldn’t be surprised if bronchial occlusion occurs. I just wish his 40k comics could convey the same depth and character as his novels. ( )
