I loved this as a teenager; reread again it feels a little simplistic, but still has a strong narrative and flashes of innovative world-building. Written when she was fourteen years old, there a some sections which feel a little dated in the opening chapters; but from the entrance into Fairyland the story picks up pace - and the Internals willed-into-being God is astonishing. I don't understand why this is out of print. It's a really good book (absolutely incredible when you consider it was written by a fourteen year old who also drew the cover art), and it's as good or better than stuff that makes it today.
