This was a life-defining book for me, it was the first English book I was given at the age of 10 (my mother tongue is Dutch), and it inspired me to become a translator. I've always had this fascination for language, and reading Squirrel Nutkin, painstakingly translating with an enormous dictionary next to it (yes, this was pre-internet), only fed the flame. no reviews | add a review
