This book includes 9 chapters. Chapter 1 explains what Myths and Legends are. Chapters 2-8 summarize mythology of several different areas of the world, including The Middle East, Greece and Rome, Northern Europe, Sub-Saharan Africa, India and China, Japan and Australia, Central and South America and North America. Each section also includes activity prompts for each section. This would be a great class project for a 5th grade class introducing global history and touching upon cultures of the world. Chapter 1 could be read and discussed as a class, then each group could choose a different area of the world to research and present to the class through the activity suggestions included in the section. The book would be appropriate for 5-6 grade classes.
