Jack and his mother were very poor. So Jack took their only cow to the market to sell and he sold the cow for magic beans. Jack came back and his mother was mad. She threw the beans out the window. In the morning when jack woke up there was a beanstalk that was really tall. Jack climbed this beanstalk and behold there was a castle. Jack stole something that wasn’t his and climbed back down.

This book is an old trusty. I have heard this book read to me many times and I have read this book many times. I feel like every child should at least one time read this book. This book has great pictures.

I would use this book if we were learning about make believe. I would have each student draw pictures of something make believe and tell a story about it. ( )
