One of the few Glider Pilot books that describes, albeit briefly, the training. In fact, briefly could be used throughout when describing the book. In a scant 160 pages the author describes his recruitment, training, operations (D-Day and Arnhem), capture, interrogation, and PoW experiences (including the armed take over of Stalag Luft 1 at the end of the war). The author writes well and the book is a delight to read. One just wishes there were more of it. ( )
