Occasionally hysterical misanthrope and misogynist. Obviously sometimes clever, or nobody would read him. Easy to quote...here's one: "And what a mixed company inhabits the Temple of Universal Fame!--generals, ministers, charlatans, jugglers, dancers, singers, millionaires and Jews!" and also
"The Germans have no national pride, which shows how honest they are, as everybody knows!" ( )

En la obra de Arthur schopenhauer, pensador misántropo y pesimista denostado por sus amargas invectivas, El lector no encontrará candidos pensamientos con los que acompañar plácidamente el paso de los días. Sin embargo,se equivocara se busca en el autor tan sólo una marca visión de la vida,severo diagnóstico sobre la época que le tocó vivir o incluso, en último terminó, una exhortación al suicidio. Como muestra la presente selección de textos, a cargo de Ernst Ziegler, lo que brota de su pensamiento es la convicción de que debemos comenzar a vivir de nuevo cada día, pues resulta todo un arte permanecer con vida.

Yaşamın mutluluk peşinde koşarak değil acısızlık peşinde koşarak haz peşinde koşmadan dingin bir şekilde geçirilmesi gerektiğini anlatıyor.Yaşlıların tecrübeye dayalı olarak herşeyi temiz gördüğü ama gencin uyaranlarını çok uyaran şey olduğu için çok hata yaptığını anlatıyor. ( )

E' per i lettori non iniziati alle problematiche filosofiche e alle dispute scientifiche che Schopenhauer ha scritto questi aforismi sulla saggezza del vivere posti in chiusura al primo volume dei Parerga e paralipomena. Un libro per tutti, quindi dove l'esperienza di una vita e di un sapere si distilla in ragionamenti e consigli sulla felicità. Partendo dalle definizioni basilari di "ciò che uno è", "ciò che uno ha", "ciò che uno rappresenta", il grande filosofo tedesco fornisce gli insegnamenti per raggiungere quella che egli definisce l'"arte di condurre un'esistenza il più possibile piacevole e felice". Oltre a rappresentare un modo stimolante per accostarsi al pensiero di una delle grandi figure della nostra cultura, gli Aforismi, scritti in maniera semplice e brillante, arricchiti di rimandi culturali e letterari alla filosofia occidentale e orientale, testimoniano il fascino che la scrittura di Schopenhauer esercita ancora sul lettore moderno.
