Michael Bennett returns in Run for your life, the second in the series. Michael returns to us with his nanny and 10 kids after his wife died in the first book. This time he is faced with a killer calling himself 'The Teacher'. He goes on a killing streak killing people in New York. At first it seems random but a pattern seems to emerge after someone identify's who they think the teacher is. On top of this, all of his kids have the flu and are vomiting everywhere!
The book is a typical short chapter James Patterson thriller. Its fast paced, interesting and has an air of unpredictability to an extent. Michael is a likable character as is his nanny who manages to look after his 10 kids.
I will read the next in series. 3.5/5 ( )

Not a bad story and follow up novel for Detective Michael Bennett and his troop of 10 children. ( )

With the exception of those pages dealing with Michael Bennett's ten kids, this is a fast paced, page turning book about a man killing well to do New Yorkers. ( )

I need a new series to listen to as I exercise. I am getting tired of Patterson. I will probably continue the Women's Murder Mystery series, but not Michael Bennett. ( )

OK, I admit it. I really liked this unlikely tale of murder in New York City. If you just sit back and overlook the incredibility of the plot and the supernatural abilities of the villain, the story grabs you and keeps you entertained. Since my reason for reading is, in fact, entertainment, I was willing to happily put aside my as-if thoughts and go with it. 4 stars for the entertainment value. If you are into convoluted plots, hero cop detectives and super bad guys, you will love this book. I found it far better than any of Patterson's Alex Cross efforts ( )
