I first heard one of the stories at church camp in elementary school in the early 80s. I went to another church camp in 1984 and heard another story. Both "Barrington Bunny" and "The Porcupine Whose Name Didn't Matter" have stayed with me ever since. My copy is very battered from my time as a camp counselor at the second camp. ( )

I don't know why but the first story in this collection of spiritual parables and poems really touched me deeply and still does every time I read it. Barrington Bunny is a simple, poignant children's Christmas story about self-sacrificing love. The rest of the book I can take or leave - but I come back to Barrington every few years and read and ponder again... ( )
