It contains a short history of the catechism, how the catechism came to America, and the illustrations are from early versions of the catechism in Luther's day. Interesting book that was used in my confirmation class. While I read it decades after confirmation, I found it interesting that the message seemed to be one of loving everyone and not on being in some ways superior to any other form of Christianity or any one for that matter. There are a few things I disagree with and some contradictions, but this made me feel like I understood the faith more. The 1943 edition of Luther’s Small Catechism was used by confirmation classes for many years. The first 30 pages are Luther’s Small catechism, written more in the language of King James. The second part which is in question and answer form also uses King James to back up its explanations. A copy can be found on the library shelves under the number 238.41/Sho no reviews | add a review
