Then I come across this book. An Indian Yale graduate earning half a million in Wall Street retires to India for some soul searching; and here is the stunner, at IIM Bangalore to pursue his MBA - or in other words to buy himself some time.
The story revolves and evolves around his new addiction - marijuana (grass) and his quirky and uncanny ways of soul searching. How his soul searching exercise translates into lower grades and the money hungry, power hungry environment of B-school wouldn't let him escape the reasons of his departure from Wall Street. The book is simultaneously hillarious and serious. Not a masterpiece but definitely worth one or more reads.
By the way, this book is a semi-finalist for Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award, although finally it could not get into the shortlist. Probably because of it's culture specific story, this couldn't make into the top 10. Still I'll recommend if you can pay 95 bucks (INR) for a trashcan like Chetan Bhagat, you can spare 195 bucks (INR) for this book, too - at least it has better pages and a better story. ( )
