Neeve Kearny may be the only person in New York worried about the disappearance of Ethel Lambston. Ethel, a bestselling author famous for her juicy exposés, is one of the best customers at Neeve's exclusive Madison Avenue boutique. But Ethel's ex-husband, her parasitical nephew, and the fashion moguls skewered in her latest article all have reason to be glad she's no longer around. When Ethel Lambston is found with her throat cut, Neeve's memories of her mother's long-unsolved murder loom up once again. Now as an innocent witness in the Lambston investigation, Neeve is drawn into a new nightmare...a sinister labyrinth of greed and ambition that will lead her into mortal danger... A stunning tale of murder, glamour and romance, While My Pretty One Sleeps is the most exciting novel yet from Mary Higgins Clark, America's undisputed master of suspense.… (more)

It’s a lacklustre ending which I found to be abrupt. Good it’s not long winded but the initial 60% was. Truly felt like a Diva kind of movie.

A writer is murdered and her body hid in a local park. A boutique owner is concerned about her when she fails to show up for her appointment to pick up her new clothes. The boutique owner also happens to be the daughter of the retired police commissioner. This has other subplot built in as well. A crooked designer who uses undocumented aliens to keep his costs low. An ex-husband who has been paying alimony to the well selling author for over 20 years. Was an interesting read that keeps you guessing and pointing fingers to the end in regards to who was the killer. ( )

This was an ok book, nothing exceptional, but a good read nonethless. Started off a bit slow for me, but towards the middle picked up. ( )
