I bought this during the exhibition. I especially enjoyed the last few pages which has illustrations humorously depicting a Japanese phallic contest. ( )

Small exhibition catalog. The first part of the book presents a brief overview of the history of books and how they changed over time. The second part is devoted to illustrations of the items in the exhibit. There are ancient papyri, parchment manuscripts and later Medieval manuscripts from the collections of the Bibliotheca Medicea Laurenziana in Florence, Italy. This book would have benefited greatly if it were published in a larger format. ( )
