Romance One of the reasons I liked this book is because it starts when they meet as kids. I prefer to read it while it happens rather than as flashbacks. You really get much more invested in their relationship that way. I liked both characters. The writing was good without being great, typical for Nora Roberts for me. The bit at the end I have read a lot of Nora Roberts. With her I always find it can go either way. This is a book that did not go the right way. Let's start with the romance. There is no romance!! 2 kids become best friends. When they are still kids they fall in love, get into a relationship. Breakup without a real justified reason. Then years later are in the same town and automatically drift back together with no real romance, no drama . nothing. Yawn. There is a serial killer. They discovered the serial killer when they were kids. Same killer is here. Lil is the target. He keeps attacking things, sending messages. Lil and coop keep taking precautions. Nothing moves forward. Finally killer is killed. Even the climax was so predictable. SPOILER They introduce a cat that bonds with her. It keeps following her, comes back to her. Finally when she is in the killers grasp, the cat tracks her, shows the way, kills the killer. Yawn!! The minute the cat was introduced and the author talks about the bonding, we know the cat will save the day. no reviews | add a review
