Hindsight 20/20, I would have equally loved to do have done my author / illustrator study on Nancy E. Shaw as much as I have with Donald Crews. Her writing is so whimsical and fun that it really brings the stories to life and gives a great energy when going through them. Nancy Shaw often uses sheep and other various barn animals as the characters for her stories. Nancy Shaw also writes in a rhyming fashion which adds to the fun when reading through her stories. Sheep Trick or Treat was a wonderful story and if my author / illustrator study wasn't already planned around Donald Crews, I would've loved to do a read aloud with one of Nancy Shaw's books because they are really fun reads with the rhyming and everything, but they also have good stepping off points for critical thinking with the students. ( ) Last week I read Sheep in a Shop by Nancy. E Shaw so I decided to try out this one. It was equally as enjoyable as I really love the way the illustrations in this book pop out. The story is about a group of sheep who are trying to get things together for halloween and the book follows all of their challenges/hijinks. Great picture book. no reviews | add a review
