The layout of the pages fit perfectly for being pinned (to shorten the content for shorter attention spans) and have a different book a few times a year. In its entirety, the book lends itself to an excellent discussion on how reading makes us feel. ( ) Summary: The author of this book does a great job of opening up the possibilities of reading to children. He gives great examples of books taking you anywhere, allowing you to learn about far away places, fun animals, and reinforces you can do it anywhere. Another great thing the author suggests in the book is that you can make friends while sharing books or make someone feel better by reading to them which creates good reading skills and good social interactions. Personal Reactions: I enjoyed this book and the message that it tells children. I think it is very important for children to like to read and this story helps to build their excitement about books. I would definitely use this book with my future students when first learning to read because the pictures tell so much that the children would be able to figure out what it was about with out much reading and getting them involved early in the reading process. Classroom Extension Ideas: 1.Ask the kids what books the like and then read those books during the next story times. 2. Ask the kids to pick out books on their level and have personal reading time. 3.Set aside time for group book discussions. no reviews | add a review
