This DVD is a collection of a few of Maurice Sendak's books. It includes The Nutshell LIbrary (One Was Johnny, Alligators All Around, Chicken Soup With Rice, and One was Johnny). These four books are put in cartoon format and set to very catchy tunes by Carol King! The DVD also includes Where the Wild Things Are and In The Night Kitchen. These two stories are not animated as much as the Nutshell Library. More like panning the pages and animating a few aspects of each page. These are narrated with some music to enhance the mood of the story.
The DVD also includes a short interview with the author and some activity suggestions to extend the story in the classroom. ( )
