None No current Talk conversations about this book. A graphic novel compilation of a joint series of comic books between DC and Marvel. I would have liked this a lot more when I was a kid, because the story line is fairly bloated and convoluted, but the cool thing is that it does involve heroes (and some villains) of the DC and Marvel universes opposing each other, and wonder of wonders, there are actually definitive winners and losers! This would have been so cool in the days when I was debating if Superman could take the Hulk. Other matchups include Batman vs. Bullseye, Batman vs. Captain America, Wonder Woman vs. Storm, Wolverine vs. Lobo, Captain America vs. Bane, Thor vs. Captain Marvel, Sub-Mariner vs. Aquaman, Flash vs. Quicksilver, Robin vs. Jubilee, Green Lantern vs. Silver Surfer, Spider-Man vs. Superboy, and Catwoman vs. Elektra. The contests, while short, are between fairly evenly-matched contenders, and are about as interesting as it ever gets in a contrived story of this sort. no reviews | add a review
Written by Ron Marz and Peter David; Art by various Imagine if Coke and Pepsi got together and let consumers decide who would win in a fight. That's exactly what happened when the two biggest comic book publishers, DC Comics and Marvel Comics decided to write an epic story in which their legendary characters would not only interact and battle, but the fans would decide who would win those wars. See who triumphs when Superman takes on the Hulk, Spider-Man goes up against Superboy, Batman fights Captain America, Wolverine battles Lobo, Wonder Woman faces off against Storm, and the Silver Surfer brawls with Green Lantern. As for the book? Well, it's a must have for comic book geeks everywhere - especially if you grew up in the 90's. As for literary significance, well, is there anyway to say this correctly? Don't try to destroy your brother? I dunno. I really don't know. (
