All Stacey Williams wants to do is make her parents happy. Unfortunately, marriage seems to be the only answer. But as a journalist she doesn t have time to date much less get married. Instead, she concocts a plan to place a personal ad for a temporary husband in the very newspaper for which she works. Little does she know that she is creating more trouble and work than she ever imagined. First the newspaper wants her to do a story on her own ad and then the only man who answers the ad turns out to be the insufferable and possibly corrupt Lance Owens, the man she has been investigating for months. Before she can stop her little scheme from spiraling out of hand, it does: her parents are thrilled with her choice for a mate, she s actually married to him, her boss is onto her antics and she s facing some of the toughest decisions she s ever made.
