If a visitor to Saint Petersburg, Russia wants to bring home a general souvenir book, this is very likely the one that will be purchased. My 2014 edition has excellent high gloss photos that generously cover numerous areas throughout St. Petersburg. Many of the photos have better details, taken at angles I can’t, and without anyone in the photos, especially inside museums and churches – qualities that I can never achieve in my photos. Along with the light history and brief descriptions, I continue to find these books to be a valuable addition to my library, learning just a bit more the wonders of this Europe inspired city that was built by the beloved (and mischievous) Peter the Great.
