Very cute story, book doesn't fail when it promises millions of cats. Which cat will win the chance to live with the elderly couple? Will it be the cute white one? An enigmatic black one? Or maybe they will adopt them all?

A quick read that can be enjoyed in 15 minutes, go and find out! ( )

Lowkey funny at times and has a soothing little repeating phrase about the "hundreds of cats, thousands of cats, millions and billions and trillions of cats" that I think some readers will vibe with. The art is also nice in a stark, vintage-y way, and the cats look cute. But honestly the ending makes me sad and would have as a kid, too. :( ( )

It's so fun to repeat the refrain "Hundreds of cats! Thousands of cats! Millions and billions and trillions of cats!" ( )

Quotations
Cats here, cats there, cats and kittens everywhere, hundreds of cats, thousands of cats, millions and billions and trillions of cats.
It is the most beautiful cat in the whole world, said the very old man.
"Oh, I'm just a very homely little cat, " said the kitten, "So when you asked who was the prettiest, I didn't say anything. So nobody bothered me.
So it happened that every time the very old man looked up, he saw another cat which was so pretty he could not bear to leave it, and before he knew it, he had chosen them all.
