Nine were the charms,
golden-silver, made of light,
forged by the Lords of Time
to help take back the night.
Each of these nine lords
one color charm did hold,
to fight the darkness rising,
or so the story's told.
But long ago the nine were lost,
the Lords of Time all passed.
Dark and light made an uneasy truce,
but never would that last.
One must find the nine,
one must have the power,
and one will come from somewhere else
to fight the Dark Lord's hour.
Silver will be his sword,
silver like his eyes,
The choosing of the charms
is where his skill lies.
Sign of the Dragon's Eye,
great will be her sight.
She is the Protector,
the guardian of light.
From another world
where magic is no more,
his task shall be to fight
for the light in the coming war.
Called by all the Bearer,
the white dragon holds the key
to find the Chooser and Protector
and form the Circle of Three.
But if a second Bearer
by the dark is then called forth,
the black dragon shall be freed
from its prison in the North.
And the Bearer of the Dark
shall face the Bearer of the Light.
The white dragon must be risen
or all shall be endless night.

Book description
Another Bearer has been chosen... but will she help Niko, Aurora, and Walker -- or use her charm for a darker purpose? Heat lightning streaks the sky. Thunder rumbles. But Zoe Ryder doesn't care. She has to get away from her stepmother. As she sits on the banks of an old, overgrown pond, she notices a glittering shape. Little does she know that the blue trinket she reaches for will whisk her far, far from home to a luxurious mansion worlds away. There she will discover that the blue charm is more than just powerful -- it is one of the Nine Charms of the Lords of Time, which can be used for good or evil, according to an ancient prophecy. The decision to use the charm for the light or the dark is entirely up to Zoe. And unfortunately for Niko, Aurora, and Walker, Zoe has never been known for doing what's right, especially if she has more to gain by doing what's wrong.
