Rogan Matteo and his young son, Danny, move to Firewood Island off the coast of Washington state. He's hoping to provide a new start for his son and himself after the death of his wife and daughter three years ago. Lee Tait is a charter pilot on the island and Rogan needs her services to get to and from the mainland for a few weeks. Lee is eight weeks pregnant. The father was her best friend turned lover who died in Iraq. Rogan and Lee share a growing attraction to each other, but Lee hesitates to act on it since she harbors a secret that she is afraid to share with him.

Sweet and heartwarming romance with two very likable leads and one very cute young boy. I liked Lee's profession as a charter pilot and owner of her own seaplane. Rogan was a very caring hero. Firewood Island sounded like a beautiful place to live. This was a really good story about two people moving on in life after loss. ( )

Cute story. The heroine's actions at the end bothered me, but otherwise it was good. ( )
