My only complaint is that the book is far more focused on the hero's angst than the heroine's. I adored the first half - a sweet, hot romance between a woman built like me, and a hot, giant soldier. There are insecurities on both sides, and I liked watching the romance unfold. While I felt like the third act was not terribly necessary (I tend to lose interest after the wedding bells), it was interesting enough to keep me engaged and not have me resenting the extra pages that don't cater to my favorite tropes. I liked the scarred hero and the statuesque heroine. The secondary characters were okay, but not really engaging. The book was really slow-I kept looking at my kindle thinking, "I can't really be at only 29%(etc, etc), can I?" It was all repetitive thoughts & dialogue. A year or two ago I accidentally read In the Night first, and really liked it. Now I am wondering if that was a fluke, or if that book was really as good as I thought.
