George Kalandrian, el célebre y sublime escapista polcao, aceptó en junio de 1886 el desafío del multimillonario venezolano Ramón Fassbaender, el rey del pollo enlatado Ramón (...el pollo de Ramón, el pollo de Ramón, cuando haya invitados, que no falte en su salón. El pollo de Ramón, el pollo de Ramón, ya cocinado, y con su guarnición, el pollo de Ramón...etcétera).
Kalandrian se atavió cuidadosamente con su legendario esmoquin de lentejuelas, y después le envolvieron con veinticinco metros de cable de cobre, le maniataron con unas esposas de acero y le pegaron a una tabla de madera con una doble capa de cola de carpintero.
Después le dieron una paliza con un bate reglamentario de cricket, lo embutieron en el interior de una caja fuerte Great Colossus de triple perno y lo arrojaron al mar, a trenta y seis millas náuticas de Cabo Largo, durante una noche de tormenta.
Por alguna razón Kalandrian no consiguió llegar a la playa, pero su osadía y su valor al realizar el intento han pasado a los anales de la historia del escapismo.
