The indefatigable Aishling Morgan continues his campaign to eroticise the classics of English popular literature - this time, it's P.G. Wodehouse! A 1920s country house farce, featuring machinations around a prize pig, plus all the usual diversions we have come to expect from Morgan. Not perhaps up to the standard of 'Beastly Behaviour', his take on 'Hound of the Baskervilles', but spirited and entertaining as ever. In what corner of the great British literary landscape will this fiend strike next? ( )

Aishling Morgan’s books seem to get better and better, more relaxed, relaxing and more replete with pure entertainment as well as the erotic element for which her publisher is renowned. The word ‘disciplinarian’ in the title is a little misleading, as the principal character is (severely) disciplined on her rear quarters rather than being the provider of such discipline; but it is certainly a catchy title which goes with the attractive cover photograph. The plot concerns well-to-do society in the earlier part of the twentieth century, and the boisterous goings-on of a bevy of young females who are little deterred from their mischief by the stringent chastisements delivered forcefully by a veritable host of aunts as well as a randy parson and an ineffectual British fascist. There are many amusing caricatures of the English class system at several levels, the lower levels being (of course) less reticent about exchanging bodily fluids than their ‘betters’, with often hilarious results. A very stimulating read! ( )
