Pour la protéger, les parents de Marjane l’envoient dans une école catholique francophone à Vienne.

Elle y découvre la solitude de l’exil, la difficulté de lier des amitiés, la barrière de la langue et des cultures, le racisme à l’âge des grands bouleversement du passage à l’âge adulte. Et ce n’est pas simple du tout.

Et l’amour ? Ah, l’amour ?

Une suite à la créativité un peu moins époustouflante, pour une période moins innocente, moins protégée et… complètement paumée en fait

Marjane findet sich mit 14 Jahren allein in Wien. Wie wird dieser rebellische Teenager, der sagt, was er denkt, damit fertig? Die Bekannte der Mutter steckt sie zu Nonnen; das dauert nicht lange. Sie lebt mit Punks, mit einer Gruppe homosexueller Jungens, mit einer verklemmten Frau Doktor, macht Freundschaften und verliert sie, findet einen Freund und nimmt Drogen aber studiert trotzdem und schafft ihr BAC français, und als es zum Ende kommt mit ihrem Freund, findet sie sich für Monate im Winter auf der Straße. Nichts hält sie mehr in Wien; die 18 jährige sehnt sich in die Geborgenheit zu Vater und Mutter zurück. Satrapi widmet diesen Band ihren Eltern, die, wie sie sagt, die Intelligenz und den Mut hatten, ihr Versprechen zu halten, ihr niemals über diese letzten Monate Fragen zu stellen. ( )

Underbar och gripande grafisk novell om Marjanes uppväxt i Iran. Hon beskriver mycket personligt sitt eget liv, sina släktingar och sina intryck om omvärlden. Mycket läsvärd! (Jag läste 1-4 tillsammans) ( )
