Summary: A Day On The Prairie begins with a vision of a robin flying as a child walks through the prairie as the child continues on the walk animals of the prairie, plants, and smells of the prairie are noticed. Taking notice of the beauty around the child makes a wish for the prairie to remain this way for future generations to enjoy.

Personal Reaction:I really like this book! The authors of this book, a group of third graders, really amaze me. This goes to show you, if you put your mind to it you can accomplish anything, no matter how old or young you are.

Teaching Extensions:
1) A Day On The Prairie could be used in a science lesson on plant and animal identification.
2) This book could be used in a geography lesson on identification of prarie land.
3) A lesson about preservation of our lands could be developed.
