This was a poem, beautifully written and fun to read. The illustrations are lovely. ( )

I give it 4.5 stars. Mostly because a certain character that I love from the movie doesn't make an appearance. But also because it did feel just a tad too simplified.

This was just a nice light read that just felt refreshing and a nice way to end August. I liked that it was in poetry style. And I enjoyed the parts that invoked "The Night Before Christmas." I liked the art style as well because it very much brought to mind the characters as I always knew them from the movie. ( )

Jack Skeleton was so sad that his land was just of Halloween, so he went out to find something more. He went through the door that was a tree, and he took things back to his town to make it Christmassy. He did fail at trying to take over Christmas, but Santa did go to Halloweenland to bring Christmas. Just like Jack wanted. ( )

I loved this book because it brings the original Nightmare Before Christmas movie into a poetic book. The images vary from one emphasis on a page to two whole pages filled with color and drawing. They are very similar to the scenes in the movie but are 2-D and more sketch with watercolor paint. Tim Burton did a wonderful job at this book because it was like watching the movie all over again in this book. ( )

The book totally lacks the charm of the movie.

Santa: 'Twas a long time ago, longer now than it seems in a place perhaps you've seen in your dreams. For the story you're about to be told began with the holiday worlds of auld. Now you've probably wondered where holidays come from. If you haven't I'd say it's time you begun.
