The book relates the story of how she integrates her Chineseness into her life. A good psychologist would have saved her a lot of trouble. Instead as the good journalist she is she travels all over China to meet family she had never seen before. I was not particularly impressed. The funniest bit comes at the end where she learns that it was her Dutch mother who started to cook chinese, wheras her chinese father was not into food at all. During her travels through China the author becomes a vegetarian. A very unchinese thing to do. The recipes are therefore mainly vegetarian and mostly irrelevant to the story. no reviews | add a review
