Christian parents today feel replaced as the primary influence in their teen’s lives--undermined at school, invaded by the web, and in the dark about what’s really going on. Truth is, says teen expert Jeffrey Dean, parents don’t know the half of it! In The Fight of Your Life, Dean offers a frank, solutions-oriented plan for parents who want to protect their teens from dangerous choices and guide them toward God’s best–and are ready to fight to make it happen. First Dean gives parents a shocking but invaluable inside view of what teens are up against. Then he helps parents discover their irreplaceable role in their kids’ success. Along the way he tackles hot button issues--sex, partying, porn, cheating and eating disorders--and coaches parents on how to protect and grow a healthy relationship with their teens. Packed with hope and solid Bible teaching, The Fight of Your Life gives parents the tools they need to help their teens discover their exciting futures as passionate Christ followers and positive, world-changing adults.… (more)

NCLA Review - Jeffrey Dean has written this book to enlist the aid of every teen’s parent while rearing their children. He gives explicit examples in the book and explicit directions that every parent can use as the hard choices arise. The book is divided into three parts: Part 1: The fight of every parent’s life; Part 2: The issues that affect your teen most; Part 3: Hope ahead for every family. Dean is the founder of Jeffrey Dean Ministries and a published author. He speaks to 150,000 teens yearly so has accumulated authority in the field of teen culture. Faith in God, love for one’s spouse and one’s children is integral to his message. Prayer is integral. Finally he says to never give up on parenting—we are in it for the long haul to protect our teens from Satan. This book would work well as a study guide for individuals and groups. Rating: 4 —RE ( )
