This is a book a bout a big family , all the family came to aunt poogee's farm , eachone brough different kind of food to share together. This feast was during Summer time, they ate, talked and laughed a lot.During the dessert was the pickle with peppermint inside, that was included in the family recipes, because they were delicious . Family This book is about an African american family who comes together to enjoy there family company. There out of town family came with new recipes to add to the family tradition of homemade food. They share laughter and fun while engaged with each other. This book is great for today's generation, it can teach them how they can have good clean fun without technology. The theme of this story is family. Families make memories just like Hope's family. Their family reunions had laughs, games, and family dinners. Majority of the food were made by relatives. Family made meals is a tradition for this family. All families have traditions that just make more loving memories and makes these moments special. The end of the story stressed that love was the most important part of families. All of the food, memories, and laughs were all part of the family's love.
