Randall Tarpey-Schwed's comments: This sensitively written book never directly addresses the issue of the sexuality, but rather, is an attempt to help children understand HIV in an age-appropriate and non-scary way. However, there is no mention of Lindsey having a mother or a second parent, so one can infer that Lindsey's father is gay.
