Very well-written interesting satire on how the world might be without religion. Set in an alternative future where science is the new religion and Charles Darwin is revered as the Saviour. Raul and Arym have been handed over to the State run work house where they are indoctrinated into the ways of Science and are told that once you die that's it; there is no afterlife. But Raul starts to question the Celebron (a cult of celebrity) and smashes a statue that his sister buys of one of the newest "saints". This causes the authorities to send them both to an island "hospital" for them to be "cured" of their doubts. While there, Raul finds an ex-monk's diary and discovers the truth about the past - religion, doubt and even murder. p.31-35 Raul loses it in the marketplace.
