Book description
In 1880 the meeting place of international royalty and the twilight world of the demi-monde is the dazzling casino at Monte Carlo. Charlotte Grainger is dreaming that her youth and beauty will turn the head of one figure who stands out above Sarah Bernhardt, the Prince of Wales and the crowned heads of Europe - Count Sandor Karolyi, the man referred to as the Devil's Spawn. Will Charlotte be the woman to tame the enigmatic Hungarian - a rich and glamorous man, with a notorious reputation, a man who regards her as mildly amusing? Will she ever get to the bottom of his masked anguish, and can she help him to lay aside the troubled past which threatens his future happiness
